Due to the current Covid situation, we are not allowed to travel. so this initiative will give us a window to the outside World and more specifically, Russia. The South African Wine industry has come a long way. Year after year, our wine quality is improving and has built a very good reputation World Wide, switching from bulk exports to bottled products. Our industry is also very versatile because we have many different wine producing regions offering many different styles of wines. In saying that we can also offer Organic and Biodynamic wines, which if very popular in the Northern Hemisphere. We explore and try to keep up with the new trends including Wines in a Can and PET bottles which is part of the Green Choice.

Why was it important for you and your company to take part in this Wesgro initiative, Taste South Africa?

This initiative is a very targeted approach to gain access to a vast market that would otherwise be unattainable. The company specific matchmaking not only reduces the risks of making business but also saves time for both buyer and seller as local specialists have screened the market and companies in advance.

What do you think is special or unique about South Africa food and beverage products?

Both Honeybush and Rooibos tea are only available from the Western Cape of South Africa; their GI is officially protected, much the same as Tequila and Champagne. Our herbal teas from South Africa are renowned for their many health properties and great taste. South Africa has a well-developed infrastructure to ensure reliable and competitive supply.

Is there anything additional/particular/unique about your business story or products you would like potential consumers to know about?

Honeybush Green Tea has a particular high content of antioxidants and can as such be considered a superfood. Antioxidants protect your body cells against free radicals thereby supporting your body’s natural defense system
