GITEX Kenya 2026: East Africa Enters a New Stage of Technology Growth

GITEX Kenya 2026 in Nairobi became an important signal for the international technology market: East Africa is rapidly emerging as one of the new growth hubs for artificial intelligence, digital infrastructure, cybersecurity, fintech, agritech, cloud solutions and telecommunications

The key results of the event confirm the growing international interest in the region:

▪️ more than 280 companies and startups participated in the exhibition
▪️ around 60% of exhibitors took part in a business technology event of this scale in Kenya for the first time
▪️ participants and delegations came from 75 countries
▪️ the event featured 140 expert speakers
▪️ the platform brought together 100 investorsmanaging around USD 50 billion in assets

However, the main outcome of GITEX Kenya is not only about numbers. The event showed that Africa is moving from discussing its digital future to actively building its own technology-driven economy.

Today, the region needs more than ready-made solutions. East Africa is creating strong demand for data centres, cloud services, artificial intelligence solutions, digital security, business automation, telecommunications technologies and long-term international partnerships.

For Profex Group, it is especially important that this year, at GITEX Kenya, companies from Azerbaijan and the CIS region participated together with us.

Among the participating companies were:

🔹 AzInTelecom one of the leading ICT companies in Azerbaijan, specializing in cloud services, digital solutions, information security and centralized information systems.

🔹 Scientific and Technical Centre PROTEI a company focused on the development and production of software and hardware products for the telecommunications sector.

Their participation demonstrates that companies from Azerbaijan and the CIS region have strong expertise and can be competitive not only in traditional markets, but also in new fast-growing regions, including East Africa.

The economic potential of the region is also significant. The development of artificial intelligence, cloud infrastructure, fintech, telecommunications and digital public services is becoming one of the key drivers of future economic growth in Kenya and East Africa.

Another important insight is the growing focus on digital sovereignty. For African countries, it is becoming essential not only to use foreign technologies, but also to develop their own data, computing capacity, local solutions and national digital platforms.

For companies from the CIS region, this opens clear opportunities:

▪️ entering the fast-growing East African market
▪️ finding partners in technology, telecommunications, finance, education, agriculture and the public sector
▪️ participating in digital transformation projects
▪️ promoting solutions in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, cloud services, telecommunications and automation
▪️ expanding export potential beyond traditional markets

At Profex Group, we see such events not simply as exhibitions, but as practical entry points into new markets where companies can find clients, partners, investors and real opportunities for international growth.
